What you need for the session
- Your document as a PDF. Leave signature fields blank — you sign during the session, not before.
- A valid government-issued photo ID: driver license, State ID, passport or Green Card.
- A phone or computer with camera and microphone. Your ID is captured by the camera inside the app — an existing image file cannot be uploaded.
- Identity details: full legal name, current address, date of birth and the last four digits of your SSN. The system uses these to generate the identity questions.
How it runs
What happens during the session
- Identity verificationYou answer knowledge-based questions generated from public data, then scan your ID with the device camera.
- Meeting the notaryWe connect over secure video. I see the verification result and the images of your identity credential.
- Signing and sealYou sign electronically, I apply my electronic seal and digital certificate. The completed file is emailed to you.
The session recording and electronic journal are retained for at least 10 years, as required by Tennessee Rule 1360-07-03-.03(8).
